🚗 How to Reach Auli
By Road: Auli is around 500 km from Delhi (10–12 hours by car). The route passes through Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, and Joshimath.
By Train: The nearest railway stations are Rishikesh (255 km) and Haridwar (273 km). From there, taxis or buses go to Joshimath.
By Air: The closest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (270 km). From Dehradun, you can take a cab or shared taxi to Joshimath.
Joshimath to Auli: Auli lies 13 km uphill. You can reach by road or take the Auli Ropeway — one of Asia’s longest and most scenic cable cars, offering breathtaking aerial views of snow peaks and valleys.

1. Auli Artificial Lake
India’s highest man-made lake, built to provide snow for skiing slopes. The view of Nanda Devi reflected in its crystal water is mesmerizing, especially at sunset.
2. Auli Ropeway (Joshimath to Auli)
A must-do experience — this 4 km-long cable car ride takes 20–25 minutes and offers panoramic views of the Himalayan range and pine forests below.
3. Gorson Bugyal
Just 3 km from Auli, this vast meadow turns into a green carpet in summer and a snowfield in winter. The trek offers magnificent views of Nanda Devi and surrounding peaks.
4. Chattrakund
A small, clear-water lake located around 1 km from Gorson Bugyal. It’s a peaceful spot surrounded by deodar and oak trees — perfect for photography or a short rest during a trek.
5. Joshimath
The gateway to Auli and Badrinath, Joshimath is a spiritual hub with the Adi Guru Shankaracharya Math, Narsingh Temple, and scenic views of the Alaknanda valley.
6. Viewpoint near GMVN Cliff Top Club
One of the best spots to witness sunrise and sunset views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Hathi Parvat. Ideal for photographers and nature lovers.
7. Kwani Bugyal (Trek)
About 13 km from Auli, this meadow offers one of the most panoramic views of the Himalayas. It’s a moderate-level trek perfect for summer and early autumn.
8. Chenab Lake
A hidden gem near Joshimath (about 28 km trek from Auli). The route passes through forests and remote villages, offering raw Himalayan beauty.
